Buy Kit Maker 3 or Preset Maker

Kit Maker 3 turns your drum packs into kits. Preset Maker turns melodic multi-samples and one-shots into instrument presets. Each is a one-time purchase with its own license.

I’ve been building Kit Maker since 2019 and Preset Maker since 2021.

Preset Maker: what it makes

Building multi-sample instruments by hand is a pain, and hunting down one-shots one at a time is worse. Preset Maker does both from the packs you already own.

Instrument presets

Multi-samples with conventional note names get mapped across the keyboard. For MPC and Ableton, notes sampled at several velocities become real velocity layers.

One-shot presets

One-shots are grouped by category from your folder names, so a pack’s synths become one preset and its guitars another.

Formats

  • MPC Keygroups, with audio previews
  • Ableton Live 10, 11 and 12 (Sampler)
  • FL Studio (DirectWave)
  • BeatMaker
  • Deluge
  • SFZ

System requirements

Mac
Kit Maker 3: any Apple Silicon Mac (M1 or newer)
Windows
Windows 10 or 11

Kit Maker 3 doesn’t run on Intel Macs. If you already own Kit Maker 2 on an Intel Mac, it keeps working.

Preset Maker runs on Apple Silicon Macs and on Windows 10 and 11. An older version is still available for Intel Macs, but it isn’t updated anymore.

License terms

  • One-time purchase. No subscription, nothing renews.
  • One person, two computers at once. Mac, Windows, or one of each. Moving to a new computer? Deactivate the old one in the app under Help > License Info, or on your Lemon Squeezy orders page, even if you no longer have that computer.
  • Each app has its own license. Kit Maker 3 is a new key, separate from Kit Maker 2 and from Preset Maker.
  • Free updates for Kit Maker 3 and Preset Maker 1.x. Download the latest version any time from your orders page.
  • Don’t share or resell the app or your license key. The full terms are in the EULA.
  • Refunds: I try to fix the problem first, and refund you in full if I can’t. Details in the refund policy.

Before you buy

Does it work with my Maschine Expansions?

Yes. It reads the drum kits inside official Maschine Expansions (now called Native Instruments Expansions) and rebuilds them for whichever formats you pick. It rebuilds the kits, not the instrument presets, and third-party Maschine packs aren’t supported.

Do I need my own samples?

Yes. Neither app comes with samples. They copy and lay out the packs you already own.

Which one do I need?

Kit Maker 3 if you want drum kits on pads. Preset Maker if you want melodic instruments and one-shots you can play across a keyboard. They read the same packs, so one pack can feed both.
