Many Maschine Expansions include multisampled instruments. Preset Maker turns them into presets for your other gear.
Maschine is an input only. Preset Maker reads your Expansions, but it doesn’t make presets for the Maschine software.
Basics #
Open the Sample Pack Importer and click the Maschine tab. It lists the Expansions in the location Native Access is using.
You can also drag an Expansion’s folder, like “Street Swarm Library”, straight onto the import panel. Check your Maschine or Native Access preferences if you’re not sure where your Expansions are installed. Not every Expansion folder ends in “Library”.
What It Uses #
Preset Maker works from the audio files in the Expansion’s Samples folder. The multisampled instruments are in:
Street Swarm Library › Samples › Instruments › Keys
Those become multisample presets, and the Expansion’s one-shots become One-Shot Presets like any other pack. Numbers in Maschine filenames are never read as MIDI notes, and the Note Filter doesn’t apply.
- Only NI content works. Kontakt instruments (
.nki) and other NI plugin formats are proprietary sound files rather than plain audio, so there’s nothing for Preset Maker to read. - Naming. Ableton presets from an Expansion are saved in a
Maschine Presetssubfolder, and a trailing “Library” is dropped from the pack name.
To see what a particular Expansion converts before you buy, check the Expansion list on the Preset Maker page.
Drums and one-shots on pads? That’s the other app. Kit Maker rebuilds the drum kits inside your Expansions.
