Version 3.0.1

Kit Maker 3 is a completely new app. These are the main changes, and the What’s New page covers everything.

  • NEW FEATURES
  • Sample Pack Importer. Lists the packs in your collection, plus tabs for Splice, MPC Expansions and Samples From Mars, and shows the sample counts in each pack before you import.
  • Summary page. After each run, a card for every pack shows how many kits it made, what it contained, every kit’s layout, and why anything was skipped.
  • Your custom layout. Right-click any pad to change its category. Rename categories, change their colors, and edit the keywords that sort your samples. MPC, Bitwig, Serato Studio, Impact and Koala kits use these pad colors in their actual kits.
  • Audio previews for MPC and Ableton Live. Each kit gets a preview made from its own samples.
  • New formats. MPC Sample, FL Studio (FPC), Serato Studio, Zenbeats, OP-1 and OP-XY, and Studio One & Fender Studio Pro (Impact).
  • Logic Pro, Bitwig 6 and Koala are real presets now, created in one click instead of going through Numbered Files.
  • Maschine Expansions. Kit Maker 3 scans your Maschine Expansions and lists each one, ready to import with a click. It builds their drum kits from the original kit files now, which makes better kits, and more of them.
  • MPC Expansions. Every bank becomes a kit.
  • IMPROVEMENTS
  • Balanced kits. Filling pads is more consistent, and the Balance Categories option uses the ratio of the pack: more kicks in the pack, more kick pads in each kit.
  • Smarter sorting. Fewer samples end up in the wrong category, and new keyword modifiers let you fine-tune your own keywords.
  • Better Ableton kits. Build kits with Simpler or Live’s newer Drum Sampler. Samples are now saved inside each pack. Moving kits onto Push 3 standalone is easy now too: just drag the pack folder into your Push User Library (Live 12+).
