The latest version is 2.4.0

Version 2.4.0

  • NEW FEATURES
  • ‘Ableton Note (Folders)’ format added. This format is more advanced and different from the Move format, which can also be used with Ableton Note. The difference is the ability to have organized folders of kit presets, rather than one single list! However, the transfer process to your devices takes some additional steps.
  • MPC Expansions (packs with detected XPM files) will be properly converted into kits using the XPM kit data! This means each kit should copy over as an exact copy. (If you changed your preferences to use multiple banks, you must set them to 1 bank when using this feature). This feature can be disabled in preferences.
  • ‘Combine Sample Packs’ feature added (button to the left of Make Kits). Import multiple sample packs to combine and output into a larger collection of kits.  For example if you have a few Lofi sample packs that only have a few one shot drum samples (not enough to make many kits), you can import several of these sample packs and combine them to make a LOT more kits of the same genre. (Optional: Turn on the randomize option in the Preferences to mix them up more).
  • Big Fix for Windows users!  This update includes an important bug fix for Sample Pack Mode, which fixes the issue of sporadic missing pads. The bug seems to exist in all versions of Kit Maker. Visit the App Releases page to download it.
  • IMPROVEMENTS
  • Pre-Grouped kits processing is streamlined, does not require Maschine mode workaround.
  • You can now choose the output location of your Kit Maker Kits folder (which is on Desktop by default)
  • Ableton Live kits have an option to be Tagged with the “Kit Maker” tag (off by default)
  • Kit Maker checks for new Keywords and prompts the user to update them.
  • Added option for newer 12.1+ Ableton Live drum rack formatting. Recommended for users of Live 12.1 or later. This doesn’t directly change how the kits work but helps potential longevity in compatibility. Previous version 10 drum rack formatting is still an option for older users.
  • Add options for Updating old Ableton Live drum kits to the 12.1 format (in Menu > Extras). Useful in case old kits are not behaving correctly on some PC situations.
  • UI/UX improvements: Loading bar animation added, Preferences menu redesigned, Additional useful alerts for various actions, revised help and quick guide info
  • FIXES
  • Addressed issue where additional samples would be occasionally left unused in kit folders.
  • Updated Ableton Live drum rack paths on backend. Should fix Media Missing errors affecting some users.
  • Most of the previously missing Maschine Previews now are working for MPC Kits. If you want to update the previews for an expansion you already made, simply process the expansion again and overwrite the “[Previews]” folder. Or you can overwrite the entire Expansion folder again if you prefer.
  • Fixed bug that would cause issues if a user had an extra comma in their custom Keywords
  • Ampersands are turned into “And” in filenames to avoid compatibility issues (like Ableton Live)
  • Fixed big Windows bug that caused sporadic empty pads in Sample Pack mode.

Version 2.3.3

  • New Feature: Ableton Move format added (also works on Ableton Note app)
  • Koala and SP404MKII pad layout added (for use with Numbered Files format)

Version 2.3.2

  • Fixed bug where MPC multi-bank kits were missing the bank amount in the kit name (bug from 2.3.1).
  • Help and Quick Guide updates
  • Minor fixes

Version 2.3.1

  • New Feature: Added “Process Pre-Grouped Kits” menu option. You can process a folder that contains subfolders of pre-grouped kits (folders that are already designated to be their own individual kits of up to 16 samples). There is also a Splice Beatmaker option to process your Splice Beatmaker Kits (more info in the Kit Maker manual). This feature currently requires the user to also process the folder in Maschine mode (this step will be automated in a future update soon)
  • Fixed Ableton Push 3 Standalone kits (bug from 2.3.0)
  • Added buttons to reveal files such as Ableton Samples folder, Config settings etc.
  • Minor quality of life updates / fixes

Version 2.3.0

  • New Feature: Multiple banks now an option for MPC and Ableton
  • New Feature: Kit Maker will now automatically organize by filenames, if pack is not organized by folders (this can be disabled in Preferences)
  • New Feature: Auto-sort button can package an unorganized pack using filenames. This is done automatically during the “Making Kits” process if a Sample Pack does not have category folders, but this option sorts the pack by filename without processing it yet. The user can manually adjust the organized contents before they process a pack (for optional finer control).
  • New Feature: Quick Guide for referencing the basics of the app.
  • Ableton Custom User Library preference redesigned: Added a help guide about the option and a button to reveal the Ableton kits folder
  • Deluge updates: Deluge kits are now organized into folders (which is now allowed in a Deluge firmware update!). Kit Errors fixed and newer version of preset architecture. Side chain defaults to 0. End Sample Position fixed.
  • Help pop-up window added: Options to get help in various ways.
  • Added alerts to explain user-error mistakes to new users (importing wrong NI folders etc)
  • More keywords added to default keywords
  • Added option to Reset All Settings.
  • Licensing now allows Lemon Squeezy licenses
  • New License Info window to show user their license status details
  • More logging to help users with issues
  • Minor Bug fixes
