# Sample Pack Mode Options

These options apply when building kits in Sample Pack Mode. They live in the **Preferences** window.

## Sort Leftover Samples by Filename

*Default: on.*

Samples that don't match a category folder are sorted by filename. Turn this off to send them straight to Misc.

## Force Sorting By Filename

*Default: off.*

Ignores folder names and sorts every sample by filename. Useful when a pack's folders are named badly; otherwise leave it off.

## Randomize Samples

*Default: off.*

Samples are used in alphabetical order, so similar names ("Bass 1" to "Bass 12") tend to end up in the same few kits. Turn this on to mix them up and get more varied kits. Your pad layout doesn't change.
