Importing the Kit Files to Your Device

Video instructions will be available in the future

Step 1: Transfer the files to your Device

Connect your device to your Mac using a USB cable.

Open your device (iPad or iPhone) in a Finder window and navigate to the Files tab.
Find “Ableton Note” in your list of apps.

From the Finder, drag the full “Ableton Note Kits” folder to the “Ableton Note” app in the list of apps.
Once the files have transferred to your device, they will need to be placed in the correct locations in the next steps.

Pick up your device and open the “Files” app.

Navigate to the “On My iPad” location (or iPhone).
Open the folder “Ableton Note.”
You will find the “Ableton Note Kits” folder you transferred.

Open the “Ableton Note Kits” folder

Step 2: Move the Two Folders

Now you just need to move the two folders to the correct locations.

Move the “Kit Maker Imported Samples” folder to this location:

On my iPad> Ableton Note > User Library > Imported > Kit Maker Imported Samples

Then move the “Kit Maker Kits” folder to this location:

On my iPad > Ableton Note > User Library > Track Presets > Drums > Kit Maker Kits

Note: The Kit files themselves can be moved and organized in the folders however you want, but do not move the sample files.

Important: The most common mistake is not moving the files to these exact locations. If you have issues, use the “Files” app to double check that the folders and files match the paths above.

Done!

You can now load the drum kits in Ableton Note.
Navigate to the “Drums” presets in the User Library and load a kit.
(User Library > Drums)

Note: Make sure you are in the Drums folder of the “User Library” and Not in the Drums folder in “Core Libraries”
